Community Groups

Community groups are smaller groups of people who meet regularly to embrace, embody and engage with the Gospel. Generally they meet in people’s homes on Wednesday nights. If you are interested in attending one of these groups, please email the group leader.

Who:  The core of our group is made up of couples without children and a few families with children, but all are welcome!

About: We eat a meal together and then read scripture, do a book study, or watch and discuss a brief documentary.  Usually, we also add in a second component, such as praying together or having a time of worship. Currently, we are reading through The Gospel Centered Life, a study on the gospel and its application in daily life.

About: We meet every Wednesday from 7:00-8:30.  The first Wednesday of the month we meet at the church for our Family Dinner where our community group sits down at one table and update each other about our lives and spend time praying for each other after dinner.  The rest of the month we meet in Maplewood for our group time.  We are intentional about finishing our study at 8:30 so we start at 7:00 pm with an opening prayer and a small time of worship.  We are currently studying the Parables using the SOAR method of Bible study.

About: Whether we’re studying the Bible, enjoying a meal, gathering to pray, or just hanging out, our community group wants to experience Jesus and share life together. Our schedule tends to be pretty flexible, but here’s what a typical month looks like:

Week 2: Fellowship Meal
Week 3: Discussion/Bible Study
Week 4: Prayer Night

About: The first week of every month we spend time together in fellowship, sharing a meal and libations. The second and fourth weeks are devoted to informal Bible study – we are currently learning from the Book of Ecclesiastes. We spend the third Wednesday of every month in prayer.

About:  Our monthly breakdown is as follows: 2 weeks of Study, 1 week prayer, 1 week fellowship meal/Refugio serving. We are starting a video study about the Holy Spirit (Francis Chan- Forgotten God).

  3825 Flad Avenue
When:  Sunday Nights // 6:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.
Who:  Our group is open to all! We have singles and married couples with kids. (A babysitter is provided and the children play upstairs during study.)
Leaders:  Joshua Earman (email Joshua)

About: We gather to grow as disciples of Jesus. We are doing this by studying the Gospel of John and asking how we can trust Jesus more deeply, by praying for one another each week, and by going deeper in relationship with one another. We ask honest questions about following Jesus and assume that doing so is joyful, difficult, and done with others. A potluck dinner happens the first of the month before our study at 5pm. If you are new to Christianity or skeptical we would love to have you join us in the discussion.
